What's a driver then? Well, My definition of a driver is software thats used to communicate between an operating system and a peripheral. Think of it as a translator. If you use a bad driver, your OS won't understand your video card and may become unstable and crash. Your video card speaks English, your motherboard speaks English, but perhaps in a different dialect and then just to make matters worse your operating system speaks another dialect. Therefor they may not understand each other. So a driver is the universal translator that tells each part how to work together so they can function correctly.
Why should we care: Well when you use out of date drivers, you're making all the parts of your system work less effectively. Your computer could crash because of incompatibilities. But you may not notice anything wrong at all.. for a while, and then comes the Crash. So you can see It is better to have the correct drivers

WARNING:
Read the readme.txt files when you download or look for new drivers!
