| Step 1: Put your Win98 CD into your CD-ROM drive, Step 2: Right click on My Computer and choose EXPLORE Step 3: Now left click on the Step 3: and again left click on the Step 4: now left click on the Step 5: Now left cick on the FAT32EBD folder Step 6: On the right hand panel you will see the FAT32EBD or FAT32EBD.EXE file ( This depends on whether you have the file extensions hidden or not ) Step 7: Now double click on the FAT32EBD or FAT32EBD.EXE file Step 8: This will open up a DOS window, Now just follow the on screen instructions. When your bootdisk is finished you will see the word done in the DOS window, you can now close the Dos window and with your new bootdisk in drive A: reboot your computer. Now check you can read CDs with your new bootdisk by following these steps 1 Make sure there's a CD in the CD-ROM drive 2 Type X: and hit enter (where X is the drive letter of your CD-ROM Drive ) 3 Type DIR hit enter you should now see the contents of your CD. If all is well write protect your floppy and keep it in a safe place. |
| Boot to DOS Put your Win98 CD into your CD-ROM drive, Type X: now press enter (where X is the drive letter of your CD-ROM Drive ) Type CD TOOLS now press enter Type CD MTSUTIL now press enter Type CD FAT32EBD now press enter Put a new 1.44 floppy disk in your A: drive Type FAT32EBD now press enter All you have to do now is follow the on screen instructions. When your bootdisk is finished check you can read CDs with it by following these steps 1 Make sure there's a CD in the CD-ROM drive 2 Type X: and press enter (where X is the drive letter of your CD-ROM Drive ) 3 Type DIR and press enter you should now see the contents of your CD.
